Clean Solution: Big Bag Emptying Station in New Hygienic Design
To give visitors to our trade fair stand as comprehensive an insight into our range of products in big bag handling as possible, Engelsmann is exhibiting two emptying stations at this year‘s Powtech trade fair: one station that combines the majority of the features on offer, and an emptying station with an integrated protective screen in hygienic design, specifically for high hygiene requirements.
So that visitors to our stand can be informed about as many of the types of equipment available in the area of big bag emptying as possible, Engelsmann is exhibiting a custom-made design at Powtech which was specifically constructed for the trade fair appearance. Alongside a spring tightening device and a weighing module, this emptying station is also fitted with various emptying aids. A mushroom and bar pressure device as well as a rocker and a vibrating table are all built into the big bag frame, and each can be operated and tried out via the attached control unit. A discharge unit, which is used for discharging non free-flowing bulk solids, has also been installed below the emptying hopper, and can be tested at the trade fair.
As its second big bag handling exhibit, Engelsmann is presenting an emptying station in the new hygienic design, which was specifically designed for use in hygiene-sensitive industries, and which is being presented at Powtech for the first time. The top priority when developing this was preventing the formation of germs due to product residue not being removed or contaminants on the machine – particularly in places that come into contact with the product. Thus the emptying unit was a key subject in the redesign, and is now available in a special hygienic design. Fully removable, the hopper can be dismantled easily so that the individual parts can be thoroughly cleaned. Furthermore, the emptying unit is free of dead space in which product residue or dirt could form. The smooth stainless steel surface is available in various finishes and levels of roughness. Additionally, there are no loose parts in the emptying unit which could fall into the product stream.
Even parts of the emptying station which don‘t touch the product or components in the splash zone should satisfy higher hygiene requirements, as contaminants which can spoil and end up on the product, such as dust and product residue, can also be deposited here. So the hygienic design version of the Engelsmann big bag emptying station does not have areas vulnerable to dirt, even in the areas that don‘t touch the product: Round tube profiles, beveled corner profiles and control unit boxes prevent too much product residue from accumulating there. At the same time, it‘s guaranteed that cleaning fluids can flow off unhindered. If required, the frame itself can also be made completely from brushed stainless steel with polished weld seams. Furthermore, by mounting a round vibrating screen underneath the emptying unit, Engelsmann is showing the stand visitors how emptying big bags with connected protective or control screening in system components can be economically feasible. The JEL Fix control screen used is also suitable for use in hygiene-sensitive industries thanks to its round and hygienic design.
From 9 to 11 April, you can take a closer look at both emptying stations yourself at the Engelsmann stand at the Powtech trade fair, stand 4A-323.
