Essential functions

Emptying frame

Emptying frames must be designed in respect of their statics so that they are strong enough for the Big Bags to be emptied and the attached components. Our frame versions:

Normal or stainless steel

Modular in various heights

Square or round profiles for hygiene areas

Feed solutions

The Big Bags need to be lifted quickly and more importantly safely into their emptying position. We offer three options for feeding Big Bags into the station:

Fork-lift truck and spider clamp

Combination with an existing crane runway

Crane runway integrated into the frame

We recommend working with crane tracks if there is a large number of Big Bags.

Big Bag Connection systems

The Big Bag outlet is fixed in the connecting system before emptying. Aspects to be considered in the choice of the optimal connection system are the dust creation of the product and the type of operation:

Rocker equipment

Two support faces lift the Big Bag sideways while emptying. Material bridges via the outlet are broken and even products with unfavorable flow properties can be discharged safely.

Driven by pneumatic cylinder.

Rock function can be programmed via the control at the push of a button.

Point and beam pressure systems

Mounted on the side of the frame, they press against the outer wall at a point or over larger areas (beams). Even caked product on the inner walls of the Big Bag is thus broken up and discharged.

Point or area pressure impulse depending on product properties.

Driven by pneumatic cylinder.

Vibration tables

The Big Bag is placed on the U-shaped vibration table while an oscillation motor sets the support plate in high frequency vibration. In that way, the material flow is set in chain immediately when the outlet is opened.

Spring lift

Springs in the emptying frame ensure that the big bag is tightened upwards during the emptying process thus supporting emptying of all residual material.

Residue-free emptying and no waste of material.

No residue in the Big Bag when disposing of the empty container.

Product preparation

Hast your product compacted in the Big Bags during transport or storage? Have clumps formed? Or do you want to ensure when emptying that no foreign bodies are in the product?

We combine your Big Bag – emptying solutions with various components so that your product can be optimally processed after emptying.

Safety guards

Safety guards are an important component of safety concepts in systems.

They offer you as systems operator two advantages:

They ensure that the operators have sufficient safety distance at critical points.

They prevent unauthorized persons being able to intervene in the process.

Emptying aids

Materials with unfavorable flow properties can often not be emptied without aids. Compacting products, for example, can compact during transport so that no product empties out when the Big Bag outlet is opened. The most common problems when emptying Big bags are the formation of bridges and tunnels and clumping of the product.

Free flowing

The product in th Big Bag has very good flow characteristics. It can be completely emptied without any problems and without additional aids.

Bridge formation

Compacting materials compacts directly above the outlet and forms a bridge which prevents the product from emptying through the outlet.

Tunnel formation

Caking material sticks to the walls of the Big Bag and builds up so that the product can only flow through a narrow tunnel in the interior.

Monoblock

The materials solidifies in the Big Bag through storage, sometimes so strongly that only large clumps can be removed. In extreme cases, this forms a single, so-called “monoblock”.

Emptying aids can also work on the the Big Bag from the outside and ensure a continual flow of material during the emptying process even where the products have poor flow properties. Engelsmann emptying aids work either by physical energy in the form of impacts or rocker motions or vibration. In each case, the energy generated from outside is transferred via the Big Bag to the product stored inside.
