Cyclone separator JEL Viro

When it gets really hard!

The JEL Viro is mainly used for separating oversized particles and fines from bulk materials that are difficult to pour and screen, such as baking powder, cocoa, sulphur or phosphate.

The screening of fatty and sticky products is one of the trickiest screening tasks. Especially the clogging of the sieve inserts is a challenge and requires appropriate cleaning systems.

Designed as a cyclone separator, the JEL Viro delivers good screening results in terms of separation efficiency and throughput, even with difficult-to-screen products.

Method of operation of the JEL Viro

Cyclone separators have a round screen basket – in the case of the JEL Viro, this consists of two screen half-shells.

The product to be screened is first fed gravimetrically into a distribution pre-chamber of the screening machine and from there transported further into the screen via an integrated feed screw.

Inside the screen basket, the product is distributed evenly over the screen surface by adjustable rotor bars. Due to the centrifugal effect of the screen rotor and the additional vibration for cleaning the screen mesh, the JEL Viro achieves a high throughput rate during screening.

Agglomerates that cannot be broken up and cannot pass through the mesh are transported to a separate outlet by adjustable racket bars.

The separated agglomerates can ideally be returned to production and reprocessed. Or they can be disposed of.
